Selwyn Outreach Centre

From 1978 until now, the church services have lengthened from one hour per Sunday to around 2 hours (both services), with extra time given to praise and worship.  In these past years the congregation has grown 20 times.  

This church began in 1865 and in the 1930’s it was closed with only two families in attendance.  From the early 30’s to the late 40’s it remained empty and then for one dollar per year the United Church leased it.  In the late 60’s the United Church closed the church.  At that time a small group of local residents took charge, creating Selwyn Community Church.  Since that time we have outgrown the little country church, were housed in a warehouse and are now at our present location.
